A STORY OF HOPE

My Life Giving Food is started from Candice's cancer fighting journey. Candice was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma (a type of blood cancer) in Feb 2019. Initial scans showed a 14cm tumor in the middle of her chest.

In a bid to survive, Candice changed her diet completely. She stopped eating gluten, refined sugars, processed foods and animal products. Instead, she turned to probiotics, natural whole foods, plant based diet to aid her body in the cancer fight.

She went for 12 sessions of chemotherapy. Each session is a gruelling 5 hours, with an IV drip.

Consuming good probiotics during the course of chemotherapy helped her gut to be able to digest food. She did not have the side effects of nausea and poor appetite like most people on chemotherapy.

Effects of good nutrition

With good appetite and her gut able to absorb the plant based nutrients, she put on a total of 5kg despite going through chemotherapy. This is a blessing, because 40% of people who undergo chemotherapy die from not being able to eat and absorb their food nutrients.

More significantly, Candice’s blood quality improved from 77 MCV to 92 MCV (the higher MCV the better, figures are found in full blood count). Remembering the fact that she has a blood cancer AND on chemotherapy which also kills the good cells, a 15 point increase in MCV levels is extremely significant.

Living by God’s grace

Today, Candice desires to share how she managed to keep well using probiotics and plant based whole foods though My Life Giving Food because she has experienced first hand how life-giving the right food can do to help her body heal from the barrage of cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs.

Candice is very grateful to God who sent angels to guide her in her journey towards living and eating. With God’s grace and blessings, she lives a meaningful and fulfilling life by helping others to have good nutrients and keep in good spirits.
