Be Strong and Courageous
On this day last year, Tuesday 19 Feb 2019 Today I attended my usual Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) class. We are beginning to learn about People of the Promised Land.. Giants like Abraham, Joshua, David… With my coughing, I managed through the discussion session and subsequently went for the lecture. It was during the lecture, when God struck me with his words. The lecturer was asking the audience “what is your greatest fear? Is it lack of money, worry about children, ill health…?” When I heard “ill health” it was like an arrow piercing into my core. I felt like the lecturer was referring to me specifically. We were studying the book of Joshua, where in Joshua 1:9 the God in the Bible says “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” It was then, that I was compelled to see a doctor the next day. I told myself that I will go and make an appointment for the polyclinic. I will face my fears, whatever it may be because God has promised that he will be wiht me wherever I go. ________________ Reflection: When I trusted in God, and grounded myself in His word, I was able to face my fears and do something that I otherwise will be putting off. God already told me very clearly “Be strong and courageous.” Do not be afriad.. I will be with you..” Do I believe or not believe? Should I need the words of the Bible or not? For me, I chose to believe in the word of the Bible, because the Bible is based on truth.
